Thoughts on the Covington High School/American Indian confrontation

After having written over 1,500 film reviews for Rotten Tomatoes for the past twenty years or so, I am probably better qualified than most people to make sense of the one hour and forty-five minute video recording made by a member of the Black Hebrew Israelites cult that can be seen below:

The recording was about the same length of the average film I review but one that was even less interesting than the Hollywood junk I am forced to watch at year end in advance of the annual NYFCO awards meeting. Made by Shar Yaqataz Banyamyan on a smart phone, it had no close-up footage of the American Indian confrontation with the Covington Catholic schoolboys except for the native drummers advancing on them and then being swallowed up. Most importantly, you don’t see the smirking Nick Sandmann whose future as a student and professional will be constrained by his arrogance. No Ivies for him.

Like Akira Kurosawa’s “Rashomon”, there are a number of versions of what happened on the plaza beneath the Lincoln Monument on late Friday afternoon four days ago. The right has predictably taken up Nick Sandmann’s cause while the left has indicted him as a racist thug. Given the kind of abuse American Indians have put up with for the past three hundred years, Sandmann ranks as a minor first-offender but an offender nonetheless. I will try to explain his and his classmates’ behavior later on but want to start off with a word or two on the Black Hebrew Israelites who created a climate that made such a confrontation possible. If they had not been haranguing people that day, the Covington students and the Indians would have never crossed paths.

The Hebrew Israelites will be familiar to most New Yorkers, where they are based. Many years ago they used to preach (for the lack of a better word) near the corner of West 8th Street and Sixth Avenue where I am embarrassed to say I used to preach socialism with my SWP comrades. It is difficult to say whether passers-by were puzzled more by them or us.

Thanks to the indispensable Wikipedia, I have a better idea of who they are. The belief that African-Americans are the true descendants of the Biblical Hebrews has been around since the late 1800s when Frank Cherry and William Saunders Crowdy formed the first such congregations, unconnected to each other. Wikipedia doesn’t have any information on Cherry but Crowdy is a notable figure. He was born into slavery in 1847 and escaped from his masters in 1863 after an argument. Wasting no time, he joined the Colored 19th Regiment of the Union Army as a cook that year. After the war, he became a Buffalo Soldier, the term for Black cavalry members used to break American Indian resistance to the white settlers.

Crowdy’s Church of God and Saints of Christ is a fairly conventional institution with a mixture of Christian and Jewish customs. Members believe that Jesus was neither God nor the son of God, but rather a strict adherent to Judaism and a prophet sent by God. Leaders of the Church call themselves Rabbis, and so on.

The outfit that Shar Yaqataz Banyamyan belongs to is a horse of another color. The best introduction to them is a Village Voice article from March 2011 titled “Black Hebrew Israelites: New York’s Most Obnoxious Prophets”. Author Steven Thrasher recounts their infamous street theater:

On this corner, in the shadow of the Empire State Building, you could just pull up a chair with a bowl of popcorn and watch a show more entertaining than anything you’d ever see in a comedy club. The House of Israel, shouting within earshot of the tens of thousands of people who pass through this intersection on any given evening, makes for a sticky web. The endless stream of “so-called black” New Yorkers, “so-called Jews,” bewildered Japanese tourists, and born-again Christian teens who pass by are their flies.

For the first 30 minutes of Banyamyan’s video, you see his four co-religionists at the bottom of the Lincoln Monument, about 40 feet from the stairs and with their back to Lincoln’s statue. Another 40 feet or so in front of them are about 150 American Indians who have come to Washington as part of an Indigenous People’s March and Rally. It is likely that the event has ended since nobody is giving a speech. Instead, they are in a circle dance with drummers keeping rhythm. Their mood is relaxed.

The unnamed street preacher of the Hebrew Israelites kept up a steady stream of invective against them the entire time. He denounced them for worshipping buffaloes and totem poles. A couple of Indians walked over to argue but they probably would have been better off just ignoring them, especially since that would rob the cult of a sense of accomplishment. Their goal is not so much winning supporters but antagonizing people.

Meanwhile, there were maybe a dozen or so Covington students on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial who were paying no attention to the war of words between the cult and the handful of Indians.

That began to change forty minutes into the video when the Covington’s numbers had increased, marked visually by the MAGA hats about half of them were wearing. When the cult spotted the MAGA hats, they turned their backs on the Indians and refocused their verbal abuse on the students who they called children of incest led by pedophile priests. They denounced Trump as a “faggot” since he was seen on the Internet hanging out with Rudolph Giuliani in drag from a charity event in 2000:

By fifty minutes, the Covington students had risen to the bait and surrounded the Hebrew Israelites who taunted them as being chicken-shits, too afraid to take on five Black men protected by angels. I suspect that the students were less interested in having a fight with the men and were simply mystified by street theater that never would be seen on a sidewalk in their lily-white town.

What they seemed to be more interested in was recreating the “team spirit” of their high school gym, seeing the group of five insane Black men as a rival basketball team. One youth stripped down to his shorts and began jumping up and down bare-chested like a cheerleader. For all I know, that’s what he was. It didn’t take much to get the Covington students revved up and they all began jumping up and down, yelling chants that are not possible to decipher from the video although I might have heard “block that pass” at some point. It is important to understand, however, that there was a good distance between them and the Hebrew Israelites at this point, likely a result of an older man (likely a chaperone) urging them to retreat.

At one hour and twelve minutes into the video, you see Nathan Phillips leading a small group of Indians headed toward the teens drum in hand. Still high on adrenaline, the students surrounded them and continuing jumping up and down in rhythm to the drum. I doubt that no more than the average contempt for Indians motivated them at this point. It is likely that they were like most teens, just acting like assholes—especially the smirking Nick Sandmann. I have seen articles that compare the Covington youth to the “Unite the Right” protestors in Charlottesville when they strike me as have never having heard of Richard Spencer. The closest analogy to them would be the football crowds who do the “tomahawk” at an Atlanta Braves baseball game. There have been references to a basketball game in the Covington gym where a couple of students have painted themselves black. It is likely that this was not minstrel-type racism but only a reference to the school colors (everybody else around them is dressed in black.) That being said, it was a slap in the face to Black players on the opposing team in the same vein as blocking Nathan Phillips. The affront was inspired more by watching NFL games where painted faces are prevalent rather than Tucker Carlson.

These are racist jerks but no more so than probably 90 percent of Americans that Leon Trotsky once described in the following terms. Substitute the word “Indians” for “Negroes” and you’ll get the idea: “99.9 per cent of the American workers are chauvinists, in relation to the Negroes they are hangmen and they are so also toward the Chinese. It is necessary to teach the American beasts.”

In terms of their political views overall, they are like probably 90 percent of the white students in Catholic schools–pro-Trump and anti-abortion. That is why they came to Washington. They were at an anti-abortion rally and picked up MAGA hats from street vendors. That’s normal for the USA even if for the rest of the planet it is aberrant behavior. Everything is relative. What’s normal for the USA would strike a Swede as fascist (at least up until the point when Swedish fascists become the majority.)

After the Indians are surrounded by the Covington students and disappear from the camera’s view, there is of little interest in the video except one key element. All of this takes place a good distance from the Hebrew Israelites who chat among each other about the bad behavior of the students, something that has a hollow ring given the hour or so they spent stoking them up. With all due respect to Nathan Phillips, there is little evidence that his small and plucky group was acting to defuse the situation since the distance between the youth and the cult was considerable. My guess is that he was asserting their right to climb to the top of the stairs, which certainly was their right. The callow youth of this Catholic School saw their right in turn to block them as if they were a visiting high school basketball team. They will pay for their arrogance in years to come.

  1. I was hoping that the later interpretations of student behavior were correct–that the Catholic kids were yelling to drown out the comments of the Black Israelites. With your essay, I see that it’s more of a kids would be kids theme, or that Catholic anti-choice youngsters were just being reactionaries.

  2. God, the Black Hebrews! They also used to hang out in the Times Square area and harangue people, trying to provoke God knows what. They were sort of a “God Hates Fags” type cult only they seemed to hate everyone. I could never get the point of their racket myself. They were beyond weird.

They were very different from another quasi-Muslim black cult (Ansaru?) that was based in Brooklyn and used to see incense in the subway, especially in the Times Square station. I believe they had a compound in Georgia that the cops raided. But they were super mellow in their approach while the Black Hebrews were their polar opposite. My impression is that the Black Hebrews thrived on the tourist trade and I wondered whether their act was part of some pickpocket ring to distract passers-by (tourists in particular) with their rhetoric. At least in that case, their acts would have followed some logical pattern. But I think more likely that they were just insane.

  3. Only thing I would add, is that black is NOT the school colors for Covington, it’s blue and white (simple Google search). The addition of white makeup around the eyes of students in the full black makeup suggest that it may indeed be an interpretation of the ol’ racist blackface.

  6. Black might not be the school color but it is obvious that all of the boys in the photo are dressed completely in black so they were obviously not involved in minstrelsy. There have been reference to these games as “blackouts” but I don’t really know what that means. I assumed that it was the school color but I’ll accept that it was not. In any case, it was likely not a racist demonstration even if the boys wearing paint were utterly insensitive.

  7. This jibes with my analysis:

In multiple videos, the students—some of whom, prior to gathering at the Lincoln Memorial, were allegedly howling “MAGA!” at random female passers-by—can be seen engaging in the familiar chant, bringing their arm downward as if wielding a tomahawk while belting out a crude version of traditional Native American songs. Fans of the Atlanta Braves, Kansas City Chiefs, Florida State University, and numerous high schools with Native American mascots have been chopping away for decades. But make no mistake: The chant in and of itself is considered a slur by Native Americans and advocacy groups have plaintively asked sports teams to stop rubber-stamping this behavior since it first gained prominence.

  8. These guys at best are assholes. Since they’re teenaged boy assholes some will undoubtedly grow out of it. What’s worrisome is the apparently larger number of them that probably won’t–including many of the Nazi-saluting little *icks in school photos taken all over this land.

I don’t worry overmuch about e.g. Strasserism or outright Nazism taking over the country this year or next year–Trump may even be sort of a kliled virus vaccine for that in the short run–but what do all these har de har boys being boys portend for the future a few years hence, especially if Trump is forced out and thus becomes a martyr.

Will “white people” have shrunk enough demographically to offset a new generation carrying forward the old delusions? They have quite a bit to say about Jews as well if you let them talk, Israel or no. (Catholicism means nothing here BTW–does anyone remember Father Tiso or “Spain for the Pope”?)

This is a stain that just doesn’t seem to wash out.

  9. And who are these little pishers to confront a man four times their age, Native American or not? Not to say that they must be obsequious to their elders, but to get in an old guy’s face? I’m in Sri Lanka at the moment and can’t imagine a similar scene here. Barbaric American brats . . . . .

  10. fwiw I don’t think the white around the lips and eyes were a coincidence, and I found a few pictures of them on “white out” or “blue out” days, and they didn’t do that to the lips. But apparently they don’t do that any more anyway.

    Comment by freetofu — January 23, 2019 @ 10:36 pm

  11. I’d put this all much more harshly.

The Native American drummer is a regular “activist” – a performer essentially – who lied to the media about virtually everything. He is the adult here and he was principally responsible for the “altercation” if it can even be called that, most likely deliberately. He waded into the crowd beating the drum, with him and his sidekick telling the MAGA teens that they stole the land and should go back to Europe.

The outrage from liberals on social media was deeply primal and could only be described as racial incitement. If you’re from Mars and don’t know the historical “power differentials” – if they are even relevant when you have mob of millions vs a few teens – you would find the rhetoric equivalent to the worst passages from Der Sturmer. Hundreds of thousands of educated, liberal people apparently agreed that these kids were insects, terrorists, KKK, future rapists, menacing solely by virtue of their “whiteness”, etc. who all had to doxed, expelled, punched, killed and even tried and convicted (as one attorney said).

So that would be chapter one. Chapter two is when the rest of the “story” emerges. There is the part you describe, the full video showing the BHI acting as provocateurs and the kids basically. But there is also the part where it’s revealed that the account that initially shared the deceptive video was a fake bot-style account that is very much in keeping with what we saw from the Russian troll factories. And yet, liberals on social media didn’t temper their outrage at all in response to these revelations. This opens up vast possibilities for a covert trolling campaign by Russian intelligence to disseminate #resist propaganda in 2020, a campaign that will make 2016 look like a walk in the park. Liberals would first eat it all up and only belatedly begin to recognize the hand that fed them. Imagine the mass meltdown once it dawns on them that the dreaded Putinite disinfo machine has joined the #resistance! There would only be one place to turn, and that’s the mental asylum.

The bottom line that the combustible mix of nakedly biological identity politics, partisanship and internet cretinism is getting very dangerous. The only cure is the revitalization of the socialist left, yet the “left” is itself is largely captured by these very same forces. One would like to think of it as a passing phase but this may well be the beginning of something truly monstrous.

  13. “Aaron Burr” (please!)–Why do you pretend not to be a Nazi when you obviously are one? That infantile bit of paranoid misdirection, referring to Der Sturmer, as if you disapproved, will fool nobody. It’s worthy of your probable mentor, Lyndon LaRouche.

Your troll concern for “the left” is a joke–your kind have no right to speak of the left.

You are like a cowardly, untrustworthy dog that wags its tail while it slinks around behind its victim, then attacks.

Your vicious slander against Nathan Phllips–a good, courageous, and honest man–is not a reasoned piece of argumentation that deserves a dispassionate and reasoned response, but a calculated outrage that would deserve horsewhipping if horsewhips were still a thing. How dare you? But of course, your kind always dare–at least when hiding behind a keyboard.

I won’t say what sometimes has to be done with the kind of dog I was speaking of.

  14. On January 19, the day after the March for Life, Nathan Phillips led a group of about 50 chanting, drumming people who tried to disrupt a Mass at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington. (Security guards prevented them from entering.) A good man does not interfere with the peaceful assembly and the free exercise of religion of other people, especially not on their own property. Nor does a good man try to embroil a group of minors in a public political controversy; supercharge the controvery by commenting to the press; change his story as facts unfavorable to his original statement emerge; or exaggerate his military service record. Phillips’s behavior in both cases was that of a provocateur trying to manufacture an incident.

  15. Maybe the Indians were pissed about this:

Pope apologizes for Catholic church’s crimes against indigenous peoples
    July 15, 2015

Pope Francis has asked forgiveness from the indigenous peoples of Latin America for the many crimes committed by the Catholic church during the “so-called conquest.”

In an historic speech to the “World Meeting of the Popular Movements” in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, which was attended by many indigenous people, he said:

“I want to tell you, and I want to be very clear: I humbly ask your forgiveness, not only for the offenses committed by the Church herself, but also for the crimes committed against the native peoples during the so-called conquest of America.”

The conquest and the theft of their land led to the genocide of millions of indigenous people who were killed by invaders or died of introduced diseases to which they had no resistance.

He acknowledged the depth of suffering by indigenous peoples: “I say this to you with regret: Many grave sins were committed against the native people of America in the name of God.”

He also spoke of his “deep affection and appreciation” for the Latin American indigenous movement’s “quest for a multiculturalism which combines the defense of the rights of the native peoples with respect for the territorial integrity of states … [which] is for all of us a source of enrichment and encouragement.”

Guarani spokesman Eliseu Lopes met the Pope during his visit and said: “He listened to me, something which the president and those who govern Brazil have never done and refuse to do, even though they know our situation … I told him that we are living through a war, that we are dying and that we are being massacred by armed gunmen and by the politicians involved in agri-business, that a real genocide is happening to us. I asked for a future for our young and old people.”

The Pope spent a week visiting Ecuador, Bolivia and Paraguay, where indigenous peoples are battling to protect their lands and natural resources against governments and corporations intent on imposing large-scale development projects on them.

  16. As a descendant of Huguenot victims of Catholic genocide, I am eminently qualified to speak of the abominable crimes committed century after century by the Whore of Rome and the filthy devils in skirts who have led her throughout her vile and murderous history.

The occasional benignity of some prelates and thinkers and the beautiful art objects that the Church clutches in her spidery claws do not redeem this institution–heir to all the corruption of the late Roman Empire that gave her birth and whose tyrannical spirit is her soul–and which has been allied throughout its history with the worst and most repressive forces in nearly every nation where it has weighed down the life of the people.

If your objection to the good Phillips is that he interrupted a Mass, you are a scoundrel and a hypocrite. Those who know better will remember Father Tiso and “the Pope for Spain” and pass on.

BTW–the indisputable viciousness of Reformed Protestantism and its hideous doctrine is another matter–after all, it has given us Roland Boer. One does not have to be a saint to be the victim of genocide.

In my opinion, nobody is obliged to respect the practices or doctrinal contents of religion, which are all a sham and a deception and a tyranny that should be mocked, scorned, and disrupted as often as possible.

Disrespect of doctrine and ritual is not the same thing as murdering believers, which is what I personally object to in e.g. anti-Islamism as practiced with bombs and bullets in the name of Gaw-Duh by the USA and the Shite (I mean the State) of Israel.

    Comment by Farans Kalosar — January 25, 2019 @ 6:37 pm

  17. Louis,

I realize that a lot of “left” protests are avant garde performance art, in that they require the audience to complete the piece by offering up their own interpretations. But in this case, there’s no reason for you to be doing any interpretive legwork, since Phillips listed the demands:

On the basilica steps, Mr. Phillips read a statement which said: “We demand that the students of Covington Catholic High School be reprimanded not just by their school officials but, as seniors, by their upcoming universities.”

“We demand that the Catholic Church hold itself responsible for the [indistinct] hundred-plus years of genocide that indigenous peoples have endured and endure persistently by implementing the following: with reparations of land and restorations to the indigenous peoples in the U.S. and across the world.”

“We demand that the Catholic Church revoke the papal bulls related to the doctrine of discovery, which laid the foundation for religious prejudice and the dehumanization of indigenous peoples.”

What constituencies and political goals could possibly be advanced by this protest? Sorry, nobody is exempt from this line of questioning, no matter how loudly the white left (people like Farans) insists on fetishizing, infantilizing and tokenizing non-white political actors.

This is quite instructive if you’re tuned in to the contemporary political discourse. The first demand, which is certainly the principal one, is the by now classic “may I speak to the manager” act which should be utterly repulsive to anyone on the left. The second one is a mixture of absurdity and vacuous demands for some extra apology on top of the one Pope Francis already made. The last one is pure symbolism, without any material focal point. The larger goals are all retrospective, as if the simple invocation of past sins is going to reverse the injuries caused.

What constituencies are being advances and against whom? Is your point that any action undertaken by Indians against Catholics advances the interests of Indians across the Americas against the Catholic Church as a whole, securing redress for the crimes committed by the former against the latter throughout history? This is such a perfect distillation of the unspeakable idiocy of anti-Marxist “identity politics” that I don’t feel any comment is necessary.

Obviously, the real answer is that the action is designed to secure publicity for the participants and advance the interests of all the bourgeois forces invested in the discourse around identity issues (including Russian intelligence, apparently). It’s a spectacle.

No words. I don’t know which comment is more deranged, the one where you play the Inglorious Basterd, or the vengeful Huguenot. I’m not a psychiatrist, so I’ll leave it at that.

You seem to have some cognitive deficits. This is exactly what the Pope agrees with as pointed out above. I guess the MAGA-wearing snot-nosed kids are more Catholic than the Pope.

  19. No words from a diarrhoeic fountain of misdirected Nazi filth like the simpering coward “Burr?” Now that’s rare. Phrases like “avant-garde performance art” (BTW) are touchstones [Matthew Arnold–look him up] for non-intellects like this–a sure sign that we have here a stupid little man trying to sound like a big intelligent one. Contemptible. And the continued “left” pose–what affected rubbish. This fools nobody outside the alt-right.

As the history of the Whore of Rome abundantly demonstrates, the equivocal enlightenment of a few questionable figureheads like the current Pope in no way excuses the genocidal history of this corrupt and murderous institution.

You smirk and giggle in true Nazi fashion at the genocide of the Huguenots as you do at the Conquistadores, with the blessings of Church and Crown, pouring molten gold down the throats of native Americans, but you regard any demonstration of disrespect for Covington’s crypto-Nazi spawn and the priestly fascists who nurture them as a crime against humanity.

The true history of your repulsive Church in modern times was written by Father Tiso and the Falange, among many others. Perhaps because you have no idea who Father Tiso was, this is a joke to you.

But if Nathan Phillips drums and sings at the Shrine of the Feculent Deception, it’s a “combustible mix of nakedly biological identity politics”–a crime against humanity.

Indeed, your menacing reference to a “combustible mix” is a very clear threat of the violence that you, not Nathan Phillip, intend to unleash on your enemies, or would like to see unleashed. Nathan Phillips isn’t combusting.

All Nazis love to play the victim as a prelude to murder–help, help; the wicked Poles are tormenting the volksdeutch. It’s all old hat. Throw in a few routine swipes at the “bourgeosie” and the disguise is complete–at least in the eyes of you Nazis yourselves.

And how pretentious and stupid it is to declare “nobody is exempt from this line of questioning.”

By what authority to you presume to question anybody or exempt anybody from anything? You have no authority of any kind.

It the Church really wished to atone for its innumerable sins, it would disband, giving its considerable wealth to the poor.

This will never happen no matter what Francis Francis says–indeed the Covington coven are gathered around their cauldrons as we speak, weaving spells in defiance of their alleged Supreme Pontiff.

Francis Francis will be gone soon, to be replaced by another Ratzinger, and the waters will close over his papacy as if it had never existed.

    Screw the Catholic Church.

If Pope Francis already agrees, what’s the fucking point? They want him to repeat what he said? If they want something extra, what is it they want, from whom, for whom, how? Is someone (who?) supposed to give them land (where?), or give it to some unspecified Indian constituencies in Latin America? Do they literally have any links to these constituencies? Should Catholics in America help pay for that land?

None of this shit makes one iota of sense as a demand. The whole reason they showed up at the mass was cause they got into a stupid confrontation with some teens and wanted the teens to be punished? The other stuff was just tacked on to add some solemnity to the scene, which would otherwise resemble a customer calling McDonalds to complain about disrespectful staff. Plus, the activists started shit then portrayed themselves as gentle little flowers – even though nothing really happened. This shouldn’t be surprising if you know anything about how contemporary “activists” and “organizers” operate.

    > Indeed, your menacing reference to a “combustible mix” is a very clear threat of the violence that you, not Nathan Phillip, intend to unleash on your enemies, or would like to see unleashed. Nathan Phillips isn’t combusting

You’re a fucking cretin. Nathan Phillips isn’t a Nazi and neither am I. Nathan Phillips is an “activist” in the contemporary mould, i.e. a performance artist and disnigenous media whore. The comparison to Der Sturmer is regarding the __rhetoric__ that came from (mostly white) the liberal intelligentsia. The comparison is completely accurate in terms of the rhetoric. This is a completely banal observation, since liberals have been running on race and gender war since 2016. Old white retards like you can cheer these clowns on while the world burns and fascists gain strength – it’s not going to affect you personally – but I personally prefer Sanders’ class-based politics.

  24. OK wise guy, you missed the part where half of the liberal intelligentsia started arguing that – instead of white man Bernie’s universal social programs – we need to focus on abolishing whiteness and toxic masculinity? Or did you miss the part where Trump ran on white nativism?

The bourgeoisie, faced with cracks in the neoliberal consensus and the first serious challenger from the left in decades, have turned up the dial on class collaborationist identity politics, which are now being framed in purely biological terms. The subculture that has passed for “the left” since the 80s – a snow white bourgeois/petit bourgeois subculture with zero connection to the working class – is of course fully invested in this charade. Theirs is a politics of personal affect and tribalism, not class struggle. So naturally you think “Indians” getting into some idiotic altercation with “Catholics” constitutes a liberation struggle.

If these boys had any balls, they’d use their real name and talk about what they’ve done to challenge capitalism. Trolling this blog is not a revolutionary act. It is a form of masturbation for those who have zero connection to the class struggle.

  26. Louis,

Then they should have quoted the Pope at least, to lend their statement some authority. But even then, what could possibly be the result of such an appeal? To convince the right-wing congregation to “recognize” historical injustice? And if they miraculously do “recognize” this, what happens? Nothing.

Again, this is just dressing. The only real demand was the “lemme speak to the manager about rude teens.” That’s why they disrupted mass.

At the very minimum, any confrontation with these Catholics should have had reproductive rights the centerpiece – that was the agenda item of the day after all.

  27. Trolling this blog is not a revolutionary act.

I didn’t claim otherwise, Mr. Trotsky. Keep in mind though that I wrote a comment relevant to your post, and then the two you started trolling me with nonsense. Was that a revolutionary act?

  28. No, it was not a revolutionary act. My revolutionary act was organizing Vietnam antiwar demonstrations in the 60s and 70s and then sending skilled people to support the Sandinista revolution in the 80s. I don’t suffer fools gladly, especially anonymous ones.

  29. That’s not really an argument but yeah – point taken – I’ll shut up.
